Our Impact
Through Your
Support
Since our establishment, Meseret for Women has made significant accomplishments. We have supported 54 women and 63 children through our rehabilitation programs, helping them recover from trauma and build better lives.
We have facilitated employment for 35 women while reuniting 7 girls with their families. Additionally, our Meseret Day Care has benefited 26 children, enabling their mothers to engage in meaningful employment.
Committed to Empowering Vulnerable Mothers

Mother’s Day: How a mother’s love has empowered single mums in Ethiopia
Meseret for Women was founded in Addis Ababa in 2016, but how did the story begin?
It started off the back of my husband Tom and I adopting our daughter Solome from Ethiopia. It was always a dream of mine to adopt internationally, so after we had our sixth child Noah, who is now 12, we looked into it. I won’t lie; it was the longest hardest pregnancy I’ve ever been through!

Calling All Compassionate Individuals!
Whether you’re a seasoned charity worker or looking to embark on a new adventure, Meseret for Women needs YOU.
Our mission is to empower women and we rely on the incredible support of volunteers like you to keep our organisation running.
No matter your background or expertise, we value and appreciate any time and effort you can dedicate to our cause. It’s as simple as having the desire to make a positive impact and a willingness to get involved.

Remembering Tom Duke
It has been five years since we bid farewell to Tom Duke, one of the founders of Meseret for Women along with his wife, Rachel, and Weinab. We are reminded of the immense kindness and warm nature that defined his existence. Tom was not only a loving father, husband, and friend but also a strong supporter within his local community and beyond.
